Curriculum Design in Religious Education - #balancedRE

This animation sets out a balanced approach to curriculum design in RE. This approach to RE curriculum design has been developed by four Diocesan RE advisers for use in all schools and academies. This work has been developed in collaboration with teachers and subject experts over the last four years and has recently received support from the Church of England Education Office to facilitate its further development.

Leading RE Teachers

We have experienced leading teachers in RE able to offer schools support in the following areas:


  • Support and guidance for new RE Co-ordinators
  • SIAMS preparation
  • SMSC development
  • City RE syllabus support and training
  • County RE syllabus support and training
  • Planning and delivering effective and engaging collective worship
  • Planning RE (in large schools or mixed age planning in smaller schools)
  • Assessment in RE
  • Staff meetings

  • Understanding Christianity implementation
  • Working with EYFS and pre-school
  • SCITT half day training for RE
